Calvin C. Majette Sr., 63, of the first block of Radford St., died March 8, 1996, at Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mr. Majette, a retired truck driver, worked for Tarmac Industries for 33 years. He was a native of Como, N.C., and a member of New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, where he was an usher. He was a Marine veteran and also a member of Truxton Lodge of Masons (NU)177.
Survivors include his wife, Annie M. Majette; a daughter, Virgie Gray; two sons, Calvin C. Majette Jr. and Tony A. Majette; two sisters, Ruby Stevenson and Emily Williams; three brothers, George W. Majette, James Majette, Jessie Majette; six grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Janie Majette.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, by the Rev. T.M. Steele. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge.
