AARON SCHEIER

Aaron Scheier, 76, died March 10, 1996, in his residence.

Mr. Scheier was born in New York City and moved to Norfolk in 1950. He retired from the Naval Air Station after 30 years of service. His hobby and special talent was his music. He attended the Juilliard School of Music in New York and played with the U.S. Navy Band during World War II. He was a highly respected freelance trumpet player in this area for many years. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians Union Local 125, since 1950. Mr. Scheier was also a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church.

He was a loving husband and proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Lewis Scheier; two sons, Garry Scheier of Virginia Beach and Gregory Scheier of Chesapeake; and three daughters, Teresa Harrison and Susan Scott of Virginia Beach and Kimberly Yarborough of Norfolk; also one sister, Martha Partegas of Silver Springs, Md.; and one niece, Sandra Fitzgerald of Columbia, Md.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
