Mary E. Jones, 80, of the 1700 block of Charleston Ave., died March 11, 1996, at Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
Mrs. Jones, the widow of Willie Jones, was a retired domestic worker. She was a member of Fourth Baptist Church, Portsmouth, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a choir member.
Survivors include a sister, Mable Kittrell of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a host of relatives and friends; and a devoted friend, Mertie J. Collins of Portsmouth.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Charles W. Beamon at Fourth Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 11 a.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday. The family will be at 1711 Charleston Ave., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral.
