Eloise Bazemore Ward, 84, of 2641 Wakelon Road, died Wednesday, March 13, 1996, at Guardian Care Nursing Home, Ahoskie. She was a native of Bertie County, a member of the Wakelon Baptist Church, and a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy W. Morgan of Newport News, Ella Ruth W. McClendon of Kearnersville, N.C., Frances W. Mizelle of Chesapeake; two sons, Hubert F. Ward of Williamston, N.C., Clarence E. Ward of Colerain; a sister, Mable B. Shores of Charlottesville, Va.; a half-sister, Mattie Hoggard of Windsor, N.C.; four brothers, Major Bazemore of Ahoskie, Lloyd Bazemore of Windsor, Cecil Bazemore of Ahoskie, Herman Bazemore of Poquoson, Va.; a half-brother, William Bazemore of Baltimore, Md.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Windsor, by the Rev. Daniel Spell. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the Roanoke Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C., 27910.
