CORA L. BATTLE

Cora Lee Battle, 96, of the 1700 block of Springfield Ave., died March 13, 1996, at Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mrs. Battle, the widow of Henry Battle, worked for Ballard Oyster House. She was a native of Pinetops, N.C.

Survivors include four daughters, Cora Lee Simpson and Evelyn Cherry, both of Chesapeake, Bettye Evans of Norfolk, Mattie Louise Wallace of Virginia Beach; two sons, Albert Battle and James Battle, both of Norfolk; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends; a son-in-law, Ollie L. Wallace of Virginia Beach. She was predeceased by her parents, Lucinda Mercer and Andrew Mercer.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday at First Baptist Church, West Munden, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 1725 Springfield Ave., Norfolk, at 11 a.m. Saturday for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge.
