Walter Fleetwood ``Pappy'' McClanan, 91, of the 1100 block of McClanan Lane, died March 15, 1996, in his home.
He was a retired farmer and a native of Virginia Beach. He is the widower of Vivian J. McClanan.
He is survived by a grandson, Steven R. Barnes of Virginia Beach; granddaughter, Cherie Turner of Broad Run, Va.; five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Hineline of Virginia Beach, Edith Whitehurst of Virginia Beach; and a brother, W. Irving McClanan of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Gary E. Heaton in Rosewood Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence, 1100 McClanan Lane, Virginia Beach, after the graveside service. Memorial donations may be made to ``At Home Care,'' 3386 Holland Road, Suite 202, Virginia Beach, 23452, or to the Sandbridge Rescue Squad, 305 Sandbridge Road, Virginia Beach, 23456. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
