MARY M. SIMMS

Mary Mason Simms, 62, of the 300 block of West Chickasaw Road, died March 17, 1996.

She was a retired registered nurse for Leigh Memorial Hospital and a native of Deptford Township, N.J. She was the widow of Cmdr. James T. Simms. Mrs. Simms was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Presbyterian Women and Mission Outreach.

She is survived by three sons, James M. Simms of Kitty Hawk, N.C., T. Scott Simms of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Jeff L. Simms of Silver Spring, Md.; two brothers, Herschel Mason of Turnersville, N.J., and Charles Mason of Deptford Township, N.J.; and a granddaughter, Amy Ryan Simms of Virginia Beach.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Robin E. Wooddell in Providence Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 64033, Virginia Beach, Va. 23464, or to the American Cancer Society.
