The Windsor Town Council is interested in expanding the township's boundaries by annexing surrounding Isle of Wight County property.
The Town Council last week voted to spend $7,500 to study the economic feasibility of such a plan.
The council hired Eason, Lawson and Westphal, a Williamsburg-based accounting firm that recently did a similar study for Smithfield, to do the study.
Currently, Windsor's town boundaries are one square mile, town treasurer Pat Mann said.
``We need more land to survive ... because we don't have room to expand,'' Mann said. ``The only way to raise revenue is to raise more taxes.''
The council has been discussing the possibility of annexing county property for nearly a year.
The economic feasibility study is expected to take three months.
In other business, the council gave town manager Jim DeGrand approval to spend approximately $1,000 to complete the newly renovated Municipal Building's parking lot. The money will be used for parking barriers, barrels and plants. by CNB
