Lt. Col. Louis William Schwindt, U.S. Marine Corps, retired, 73, died March 19, 1996, in a Hampton hospital.
Lt. Col. Schwindt was a native of Philadelphia, Pa. He was a pilot with the U.S. Marine Corps and retired in 1975 after 33 years of service. During his military career he served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He then joined Cerberonics Inc. as a logistics engineer until his retirement in 1987.
He was predeceased by a son, Leonard Alan Schwindt. Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie B. Schwindt of Norfolk; two sons, Louis William Schwindt IV and his wife, Catherine Schwindt of Montrose, Colo., Carl Erik Schwindt of Suffolk; one sister, Elsie Paolini of Frederica, Del.; and three grandchildren, Geoffrey, Kristen, and Lauren Schwindt, all of Montrose.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, 1996, at Our Lady of Victory Chapel, Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base by Father Edward Richardson.
