Willard Shafter Harmon, 67, of the 700 block of 14th St. died Thursday, March 21, 1996, in his residence.
A native of Caldwell Co., N.C., he had lived here 41 years. He retired in 1989 after 42 years as an electrical lineman and was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church.
He was the beloved husband of Peggy Ann Teem Harmon, and is also survived by two daughters, Deborah A. Kight of Albuquerque, N.M., and Janis E. Townsend of San Antonio, Texas; one son, Larry W. Harmon of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Alseen Harmon of St. Paul, Minn., Jerry Harmon of Petersburg, Va., and Dillard Harmon of Kingston, Okla.; three sisters, Elsie Coffee of Lenoir, N.C., Mary Allen of Petersburg, and Irene Jones of Potlatch, Idaho; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Princess Anne Memorial Park, 1110 N. Great Neck Road, by the Rev. William D. Bruner. The family will receive friends in the Maestas Funeral Home, Baltic Avenue Chapel, on Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
