CHESAPEAKE - Jose Teodoro Aguirre of the 600 block of Helmsdale Way died Thursday, March 21, 1996, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mr. Aguire was born in Santa Cruz, Laguna, Philippines, and was the son of the late Castor and Anna Teodoro Aguirre. He had retired as an architect with Banks Corneille and Associates. He had also been employed with Williams Tazewell and Associates, Clark Nexsen Owen Barbieri and Gibson; and Melvin M. Spence and Associates. Mr. Aguirre was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. He was a member of the Philippines American Community of Tidewater Inc., Council Of United Filipino Organizations of Tidewater, Inc. and Samahang Tagalog of Virginia.
Survivors include his wife, Amelia Evangelista Aguirre; two daughters, Carmel Ann Aguirre and Maria Nenita Aguirre of Virginia Beach; four sons, J. Erwin Aguirre, J. Daniel Aguirre and J. Dennis Aguirre, all of Chesapeake, and J. Neville Aguirre of Norfolk; two sisters, Aurora A. Limjuco of Princeton, N.J., and Amparo A. Guilatco of Santa Cruz, Laguna, Philippines; two brothers, Dr. Jovito Aguirre and Juanito Aguirre, both of Santa Cruz, Laguna, Philippines; six grandchildren, Robert, Jose Lee, Kyle, Trey, Imani, and Nia; and one local niece, Dr. Imelda Tobias of Virginia Beach.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., today at St. Matthews Catholic Church by the Rev. Timothy Drake. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the Philippine Cultural Center. Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, is handling the arrangements.
