James Iridell ``J.I.'' Hayman, 87, died at Albemarle Hospital on Sunday, March 31, 1996.
Born in Pasquotank County, N.C., he was founder and retired owner/operator of J.I. Hayman & Son Building Supply Co., and a member and former deacon of Coinjock Baptist Church.
Mr. Hayman was the husband of Angeline Morrisette Hayman of Coinjock and the son of the late Louis Lathan and Jennie Bailey Hayman, and is predeceased by a son, Jimmy Hayman.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Joan Dunton of Coinjock and Eugene Gentry of Gaithersburg, Md.; a son, Kenyon Hayman of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Coinjock Baptist Church with the Rev. C.H. Wellons officiating. Burial will be in Snowden Cemetery, Maple, N.C. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Coinjock Baptist Church. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, is in charge of arrangements.
