Virginia Perry Burden, 70, of the 400 block of Elizabeth St., died March 31, 1996, in her residence.
A native of Hertford County, N.C., she was a member of First Baptist Church, Suffolk, and the Eunice Bible Class. She retired from Planters Lifesavers Co. after 34 years.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Burden; two sons, Danny R. Burden and daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn B. Burden and Jimmy L. Burden and daughter-in-law, Marion E. Burden, all of Suffolk; three sisters, Ruth Lassiter of Ahoskie, N.C., Annie Phelps of Portsmouth and Dianne Futrell of Murfreesboro, N.C.; two brothers, Charlie V. Perry of Harrellsville, N.C., and Henry Perry of South Boston, Va.; and grandchildren, Buddy Burden of Fairfax, Va., Christine Burden, Cathy B. Adickes and Chip Burden, all of Suffolk. She was predeceased by her parents, Manzella Whitley and Edgar R. Perry.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at the residence, 410 Elizabeth St.
