Cindy Martin doesn't know the first thing about cutting and styling your hair, but she's learning quickly what it takes to run a salon. Two months ago, Martin and a friend purchased the Shear Class Beauty Salon in the Birdneck Shops. The shop is nearby the equally chic Chez Madeline, where Martin's partner, Jennie Venner, styled hair until recently.
Martin, a Cox High graduate, had been working in the jewelry business when her mother's friend mentioned that Shear Class owner Sharon Dearden was looking to sell.
When Martin can find a free moment from the financial tasks of operating her new venture, she unwinds on a golf course, usually Red Wing. Like her business, this 14-handicap golfer is still working on her game - but enjoying the challenge.
