I read the article announcing the anti-fishing campaign by PETA. I was intrigued by the posture of the group's spokesperson, particularly the promise of escalation to ``do things which will actually save individual fish lives.''
Just what are these ``things''? If this is a proposal to operate a boat, or to place PETA members in a manner that endangers people on either side of the issue, PETA must look beyond its animal-rights agenda and be prepared to face the legal consequences.
In my working life I am involved in Superfund Site remediation, hydrologic surveys and various other activities that require discipline and education in order to accommodate the needs of humankind and the environment in which humankind exists. With so many needs from all sectors of the planet's population, I cannot understand the myopic vision of this group and the disturbance that it plans to bring to this community.
