GEORGE Y. BLAKE

George Young Blake, 69, of the 1700 block of Citadel Road, died April 5, 1996, in a local hospital.

Mr. Blake was a native of Boston, Mass. He was the son of the late Henry and Marion Blake. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and upon returning to the United States began working for NAVMTO, from which he retired after 32 years of service. Mr. Blake also worked as the vice president of Canupp Trucking Co. He was a member of Brith Sholom Lodge.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dolores Blake of Norfolk; two sons, Jerry Blake and his wife, Susan, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Mark Blake and his wife, Donna, of Dumfries, Va.; a sister, Frances Higger and her husband, Daniel; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several devoted nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, 1996, in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Michael E. Panitz. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
