John Arthur Edwards Jr., 68, of Johnstown Crescent, died April 5, 1996, at a Chesapeake hospital.
Mr. Edwards, a retired burner shipfitter, worked for Moon Engineering Corp. He was a native of Creswell, N.C., and a member of the Church of God. He was also a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles (NU)795.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Lemon of Virginia Beach; two sons, Kenneth Edwards of Virginia Beach, John Edwards of Gates, N.C.; a sister, Edna Wilson of Chesapeake; two brothers, Rev. Mitchell Edwards of Creswell, Gilbert Edwards of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Jennifer R. Edwards, Alisha K. Edwards, and Aaron C. Lemon, all of Virginia Beach, and Stacey R. Edwards of Gates.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by the Rev. Carroll Hurley. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and also at 4498 Paddock Lane, Virginia Beach.
