Stewart ``Bill'' Dutton, 69, of Chesapeake, died April 6, 1996, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mr. Dutton was retired from U.S. Gypsum, Norfolk Plant, where he worked from 1949 through 1989 and served as a mechanic/fabricator. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Mr. Dutton was Protestant.
Mr. Dutton is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret I. Williams Dutton. He was predeceased by his eldest son, Stewart I. Dutton of Cambridge, Md. Other survivors include two sons, James G. Dutton Sr. of Warrenton, Va., and Bobby Dutton of Beulaville, N.C.; one daughter, Darlene D. Jones of Chesapeake; mother-in-law, Mary Wilkins of Portsmouth; brother-in-law, Charles T. Williams of Chesapeake; daughter-in-law, Linda; son-in-law, Casey; sister-in-law, Pat. He is also survived by his brother, Grady Dutton of Pound, Va.; four sisters, Nora Spangler and Loretta King of Roanoke, Va., and Bertha Stevens and Zetta Phipps of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel, Virginia Beach. Zetta Phipps and Charles T. Williams will be officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at the home of Margaret Dutton at all other times.
