It never ceases to amaze me how journalists and newspaper editors lie to the public on the issue of the so-called assault-style weapons.
In your March 23 edition, nine so-called assault weapons were illustrated as rapid-fire weapons? Amazing!
I spent 28 years in the service, and my speciality was weapons and weapons systems. If you can show me how the illustrated weapons shown are rapid fire, I would be amazed. Not one of these weapons are automatic fire; they are semi-automatic only. That requires a pull of the trigger for each round fired, so how can you state they are rapid fire? Impossible! But this is the famous anti-gun lie to scare the public.
