Horace Lee Gwin Jr., 68, of the 800 block of Harway Ave., died April 7, 1996, in a Chesapeake hospital.
He was a retired Officer's Club manager for the Armed Forces Staff College. He also worked at Brith-Sholom Center. He was a native of Norfolk and the widower of Sibyl Gwin. He was an Army veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Horace Lee Gwin III of Norfolk and Wendell Ray Gwin of Chesapeake; two brothers, Donald S. Gwin of Chesapeake and James R. Gwin of Chesapeake; and one grandson, Trevor Lee Gwin of Norfolk.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by Father William C. Hoffman and Chaplain Bron Forrester in Riverside Memorial Park. There will be a visitation today from 4 to 6 p.m. and at 804 Harway Ave., Chesapeake, at other times. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is in charge.
