Sol Goldblatt, 88, of the 2000 block of Abbey Road, died April 11, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Goldblatt was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a resident of Norfolk for most of his life. He was the owner of Gateway Grill in Norfolk. Mr. Goldblatt was a member of B'Nai Israel Congregation and was a past president of Brith Sholom Center and was its former ``Man of the Year,'' Yes Club, Young at Heart Association, Jewish Community Center and was honored as its ``Volunteer of the year.''
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Etta Goldblatt; and children, Gladys Cohen, Lea Brooke and her husband, Benny, Helen Aleck and her husband, Warren; two sisters, Lillian Cohen and her husband, Aaron, Sally Lavigne and her husband, Charles; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Yosef Friedman, Rabbi Arthur Ruberg and Cantor Jacob Tessler. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The family will be at 501 Surburban Parkway, Norfolk. H.D Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk will be handling the arrangements.
