Albert T. Cooper

SUFFOLK - Albert Thomas Cooper, 76, of 2501 Poplarwood Lane, died April 10, 1996, in Obici Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Como, N.C., and worked for Planter's Peanuts until he retired after 28 years. He was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church where he was a member of the senior usher board. He was also a member of Star of Sharon Masonic Lodge (NU)231 PHA.

He was predeceased by his parents, Reuben and Lina Urquhart Cooper. He is survived by his his wife, Addie V. Cooper; two daughters, Mrs. Ellen C. Copeland of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Gracie C. Bailey of Suffolk; two sons, Albert D. Cooper of Norfolk, and George T. Cooper of Suffolk; two sisters, Hester Windsor of Suffolk and Hannah Hill of Como, N.C.; two brothers, Reuben Cooper Jr. of Como and Calvin Cooper of Laneham, Md.; an aunt, Naomi Lawrence of Suffolk; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association, Memorial Fund 360 Southport Circle, Virginia Beach. A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Tabernacle UCC by the Rev. Carlton Upton Sr. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The remains of Mr. Cooper will lie in state from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge. Masonic rites will be accorded at the cemetery.
