SPEAKER TO DISCUSS HIS ``GIFT''; HE COMMUNICATES WITH THE DEAD

George Anderson says he has a unique way of communicating with departed loved ones. He scribbles a pen back and forth across a pad of paper to help focus his attention on voices he says he hears.

He will demonstrate this process at the Association for Research and Enlightenment conference ``We Don't Die: Taking a Closer Look at the Other Side,'' at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Anderson has appeared on the television program ``Unsolved Mysteries'' and has been the subject of three books. His ``gift'' of being able to see and hear departed souls came two months after a serious childhood illness of encephalitis. After he fully recovered from the illness, which had left him paralyzed temporarily, he said he began having visions and hearing voices. He was able to tell individuals about their past, present and future.

Anderson now conducts grief support programs throughout the world, helping individuals communicate with departed loved ones.

Dr. Raymond Moody also will speak at the conference on near-death experiences. The physician's books ``Life After Life'' and ``Reunions: Visionary Encounters with Departed Loved Ones,'' challenges individuals to question their beliefs and explore other nontraditional possibilities.

Other speakers will include John Van Auken, Joseph Lee and Lynn Sparrow.

The cost for the four-day conference is $285 for members and $325 for nonmembers. Individuals tickets for George Anderson are available through Ticketmaster for $55 by calling 671-8100. by CNB
