Regarding Brian Bell's ``Why did Pickett vote to repeal ban?'' (letter, April 10), I answer: What difference would it make?
To prohibit law-abiding citizens (who by definition would obey a ban) from acquiring military-style assault weapons when the criminal factor will continue to misuse them would make no difference at all.
Guns don't kill people; people kill people. We need laws to keep criminals behind bars and to enforce those laws. We should not compromise the Second Amendment right of law-abiding citizens to bear arms.
