Charles Roland Renegar Jr., 50, of the 5200 block of Westhaven Crescent, died April 12, 1996, in a local hospital.
He was a field engineer for EDO Corporation. He was also retired from the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief after 23 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Troutman, N.C., and was a member of the U.S. Golf Association and the Fleet Reserve. He was a native of North Carolina.
He is survived by a daughter, Shawnessy Renegar of Atlanta, Ga.; mother, Elma O. McIntire of Stone Mountain, Ga., and father, Charles R. Renegar Sr. of York, S.C.; two stepsisters, Madolyn Yates of Salisbury, N.C., and Cindy Renegar of York, S.C.; fiancee, Teresa Duchesne of Virginia Beach; stepfather, Robert McIntire of Stone Mountain.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today by Chaplain Ken Veazey in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, Burial is in Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens, Snellville, Ga. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, 23513. The body will be sent to the Tom. M Wages Funeral Home, Snellville, Ga., for funeral and burial services. Chuck was a kind, caring, generous and compassionate man who will be greatly missed by his friends, co-workers and loved ones, but they take comfort in the knowledge that he is golfing with the angels now.
