Annie Basnight Davenport, 90, of the 4600 block of Delco Road, died April 12, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
She was a a native of Creswell, N.C., and the widow of James DeWitt Davenport. She was a member of West Side Christian Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Margie S. Messick of Virginia Beach; three brothers; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two stepdaughters, Esther Daniel of Chesapeake and Janice DeWeese of Suffolk. She was predeceased by a daughter, Audrey S. Consolvo; a son, Paul Thomas Sawyer; and a stepson, Horace Davenport.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Kenneth W. Bryan in West Side Christian Church. Burial is in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the West Side Christian Church Memorial Fund. Holloman-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge.
