Edith Woodard Vann, 93, died Friday, April 12, 1996, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie, N.C.
She was a native of Northampton County and was the widow of C.S. Vann of Route 1, Conway. Also she was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church, Route 2, Conway.
Survivors include a son, George T. Vann and his wife, Louise of Conway; daughter, Rockie V. Brett of Murfreesboro; two sisters, Katie Sue Taylor and Gracie W. Flythe of Conway; seven grandchildren, Shelby V. Bullock of Greenville, Cynthia V. Springer of Wadesboro, Georgette R. Vann of Greenville, Dr. Amy V. Price of Freemont, George T. Vann Jr. of Hattiesburg, Miss., Kathy B. Knoonce of Richlands, and Howard Stanley Brett Jr. of Murfreesboro; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dan Bowman and the Rev. Billy Sellers. Burial will follow in the Conway Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Murfreesboro Rescue Squad or to a favorite charity. The family will receive friends in the home of Mrs. Rockie V. Brett, 222 Woodbridge Drive, Murfreesboro. Bridgers Funeral Home is in charge.
