Phyllis Virginia Chafin, 76, of the Colonial Heights section of Norfolk, died April 13, 1996, in a local hospital.
She was a native of Signpost, Va., and worked as a homemaker.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Leon Chafin; sister, Gladys Nibblett of Pocomoke City, Md.; brother, Julius Outten of Richmond, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, William Outten and George Gochnour.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
