On Thursday, The Virginian-Pilot will moderate public
conversations for Virginia Beach School Board candidates and not
City Council candidates, as stated in election calendars Sunday and
Monday. The public conversations will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Thursday at Kempsville Recreation Center, 800 Monmouth Lane,
Virginia Beach.
The lead photo in Saturday's Daily Break, with an article on
downtown Norfolk before urban renewal, showed Bank Street before
World War II. The caption misidentified the street and the
approximate date of the photo.
A label Sunday in the Suffolk Sun incorrectly identified Bruce T.
Benn as a School Board candidate from the Nansemond Borough of
Suffolk. He is among three candidates seeking the Sleepy Hole
seat.
The National College Access Network will meet in Norfolk on
Thursday and Friday, April 25 and 26, at the Omni. A MetroNews story
Friday stated incorrectly that the conference was this week.
Tidewater Community College's Interactive Computer Training Lab
is in the Monticello Arcade in Norfolk. A column in Monday's Daily
Break had the wrong building.
A Chesapeake boating accident early Saturday occurred when the
boat smashed into a tugboat. Stories in the Sunday and Monday
MetroNews sections erroneously reported that the boat hit a barge.
Irina Pafomova is an exchange student at Old Dominion University,
a recipient of the USIA/ACTR scholarship, and will return home to
Russia after completing the program. A MetroNews story Friday about
the university erroneously said that Pafomova had emigrated from
Russia.
