The American Automobile Association recommends that drivers use a 9

o'clock-3 o'clock position for their hands to avoid injury from a

deploying air bag.

With a lap and shoulder belt to keep the body in position and an air

bag to offer further protection in a crash test, this dummy does not

fall forward against the steering wheel or dashboard.

Without a lap and shoulder belt or an air bag, this dummy falls

forward and hits the steering wheel in a crash test.
