Dorothy Hofler Pierce Brothers, 69, of the 700 block of Fire Tower Road, died Friday, April 19, 1996, in Albemarle Hospital.
Mrs. Brothers was born in Gates County. The daughter of the late John L. and Mrs. Irma Baines Hofler, she was a member of Newland United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Everett L. Brothers; four daughters, Julia P. Lynch of Chapel Hill, N.C., Martha P. Lilley of Gates, N.C., Helen P. Jett of Clayton, N.C., and Lynn P. Lomax of Greensboro, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Marilyn Brothers of Raleigh and Joyce Courtney of Apex; two stepsons, Leon Brothers of Elizabeth City and Glenn Brothers of Holly Springs, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. C.A. ``Catherine'' Perry of Hobbsville; and 14 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Cross Family Cemetery, Sunbury, by the Rev. Allen Gibson. Friends may join the family at the residence. Contributions may be made to Newland United Methodist Church, 449 Crooked Run Road, Elizabeth City, N.C. 27909. Miller Funeral Home is in charge.
