Joseph Michael Tharp, 45, of the 1100 block of Loma Escondida Drive, died April 20, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Tharp was a native of Norfolk and was a driver for C.X. Roperson Freight Line. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lilly Smith Tharp.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Arnold Tharp; a son, David Lee Tharp; his father, William Thomas Tharp Sr.; a sister, Brenda Schultz of Norfolk ; three brothers, William Thomas Tharp Jr. of El Paso, Texas, Richard Terry Tharp of Norfolk, John Robert Tharp of Chesapeake; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held in El Paso. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Tidewater Chapter. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, submitted obituary information.
