THEY STAND WITH WARNER

Sen. John Warner will be our choice next November to again represent Virginians in the U.S. Senate. He is the best candidate running.

Senator Warner has a long record of effective representation and legislative service. He is a force for a strong national defense; in particular, he supports the men and women in the armed forces serving at home and abroad.

The senator is a man of solid, good character who acts with principled conviction and sound judgment - sometimes it has cost him the support of voters with non-negotiable political demands. He has an excellent record of effective representation and legislative contributions in Congress.

Had Jim Miller been the Republican nominee in 1994, he too may have been serving Virginians as senator.

The Republicans who gave us an unelectable Ollie North now seem bent on ousting John Warner. It is ironic that the most recent Christian Coalition scorecard shows Senator Warner voted to support the Coalition position on all 11 family issues. Sen. Chuck Robb opposed Warner and the coalition on nine of the votes, nullifying those votes for the family position.

Out political allegiance is strong but secondary to our conservatism and some truths of representative democracy.
