PUTTING CHILDREN ON POSTERS PROVES PROFITABLE

Jeff Kaiser has turned his hobby as a photographer into a career. Kaiser, who has been practicing photography since age 12, left the insurance business to purchase The Sports Section of Chesapeake.

Kaiser shoots photos of children and puts them on posters, trading cards and T-shirts, even imitation sports magazine covers that look like the real thing.

``It's a keepsake parents love, too,'' said Kaiser.

Kaiser and his wife, Lyn, bought the franchise from The Sports Section, a Norcross, Ga.-based company with more than 100 franchises nationwide.

Wintergreen Financial Group Inc., a broker-dealer based in Tarrytown, N.Y., has opened a sales office in the Dominion Tower building in Norfolk.

The firm sells non-proprietary mutual funds, variable and fixed annuities and insurance products. Norfolk is the company's 7th sales location.

Lillian Vernon Ultimate Clearance Store has opened in the Wards Corner section of Norfolk. It offers returned goods at discounts.

Suffolk residents Terrie and Benny Sherman bought the skydiving business at West Point Airport and renamed it Westpoint Skydiving Center Inc.

Benny had worked for former owners Dave Ropp and Ruth Sondheimer.
