WILLIAM J. CASHMAN

William J. Cashman, 74, of the 6000 block of River Road Point, died April 21, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Cashman, a native of Norfolk, was employed in the industrial supply business for more than 40 years and most recently owned the Bi-Del Industrial Supply company where he retired in 1986. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Norfolk. An Army veteran of World War II, he served as a first lieutenant in the Pacific theater. He was a member and former member of the board of directors of the Ryan Club of Norfolk and former member of the Norfolk Sertoma Club.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Adele Bashara Cashman; a daughter, Adele C. Cassidy and her husband Kevin of Annandale, Va.; a son, William J. Cashman Jr. and his wife Susan of Virginia Beach; and two grandsons, Daniel Joseph and Patrick Thomas Cashman, both of Virginia Beach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by the Rev. Patrick Doody. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Endowment Fund of the Ryan Club of Norfolk, or the charity of the donor's choice.
