Talmadge Lee ``Pete'' Edwards, 71, of the 200 block of Navajo Trail, died Friday, April 19, 1996, in Portsmouth.
He was a native of Independence, Va., and was the widower of Verna V. Edwards. He had retired as an inspector from the Norfolk Naval Operations Base. He was a member of VFW Post (NU)993, an Army veteran of World War II and a Bronze Star recipient.
Survivors include a daughter, Cindy L. Edwards of Portsmouth; a son, Ronald W. Edwards of St. Charles, Mo.; three sisters, Ida Funk, Ina Noblett and Elsie Hale; two brothers, Ralph Edwards and Walter Edwards; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Richard W. Lovingood. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
