Carole A. Copeland, of the 3200 block of Camelot Blvd., died April 20, 1996, at Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
Mrs. Copeland, a native of Norfolk County, Va., was a member and usher of Canaan Baptist Church, Chesapeake. She was also a member of the Usher Ministry and Food Ministry of the church. Her life was dedicated to the care of her family.
Survivors include her husband, Leon E. Copeland Sr.; a daughter, Latreece A. Copeland of Chesapeake; a son, Leon E. Copeland Jr. of Chespeake; a stepson, Anthony Ferebee of Chesapeake; her mother, Virginia E. Frye of Chesapeake; five sisters, Jacqueline Hudson and Theresa Locker, both of Chesapeake, Cynthia Westley of North Carolina, Denise Johnson of Woodbridge, Va., and Lisa Mooring of Portsmouth; five brothers, James Frye and Anthony Frye, both of Chesapeake, Eugene Frye of Virginia Beach, William Frye of Washington, D.C., and Charles Frye of Lynchburg, Va.; eight grandchildren; three aunts; an uncle; mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Copeland of Chesapeake; two daughters-in-law, Yvette Copeland and Diane Ferebee, both of Chesapeake; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends; and five devoted friends, Reatha Sellers, Edith Copeland, Dorothy Harper, Lillian Scott, and Barbara Atkinson.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Canaan Baptist Church, 1209 Dominion Blvd., South Chesapeake, by the Rev. Theodore R. Little. Burial will be in Copeland Family Cemetery, St. Julian Creek, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
