WILLIAM E. SMITH SR.

William Earl Smith Sr., 81, died Sunday April 21, 1996.

Mr. Smith, a native of Virginia, owned and operated Earl Smith Oyster and Crab for 60 years in Virginia Beach.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Smith; six daughters, Jean Wysocki, Nancy Gallagher, both of Virginia Beach, Margaret Harris of Chesapeake, Donna Whitehead of North Carolina, Carlotta Craft of Florida, and Janice Smith of Virginia Beach; three sons, Lloyd Chick Jr., Robert Chick, both of Virginia Beach, and Samuel Chick of Washington; his sister, Mazie Deal of Virginia Beach; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son, William Earl Smith Jr.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kellum Funeral Home, Virginia Beach. A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Les Smith at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local diabetes foundation.
