JACK H. PRUITT

Jack H. ``Captain Jack'' Pruitt, 75, died April 21, 1996, at home on the 1600 block of Ann St.

Mr. Pruitt was a retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer and also retired from the Virginia Department of Highways.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Vera Pruitt; and his son, Kenneth Edwin Pruitt. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Mathis Pruitt; three sons, Jack H. Pruitt Jr. and Michael Pruitt of Portsmouth, Karl Mathis Pruitt of Texas; a daughter, Linda Anne Pruitt O'Neil of Portsmouth; and six grandchildren.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service which will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the family residence. There will also be a reception following the service at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Navy Relief Fund, 7920 Hampton Blvd., Norfolk. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
