A suspicious device and pieces of another were found in West Ocean View Sunday night after residents heard an explosion on the beach, a spokesman for the Department of Fire and Paramedical Services said.
No one was injured.
Residents near the 1400 block of W. Ocean View Ave. told investigators they heard the blast about 9 p.m.
The State Police bomb squad was called to the beach on the Chesapeake Bay side of Willoughby Spit. The squad found parts of one device and another - still whole and partially covered by sand. The second device was detonated by the bomb squad. by CNB
