Thomas Webb Robbins, 76, of 201 Red Point Drive, died Tuesday, April 23, 1996, in Louise Obici Hospital, Suffolk.
Mr. Robbins, a native of Perquimans County, N.C., was a retired owner of Thomas W. Robbins Furniture Store from 1947 to 1990. Mr. Robbins was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a charter member of Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department, a past master of Smithfield Union Masonic Lodge (NU)18, and a past district deputy. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Godwin Robbins; three daughters, Marie R. Johnson and Anne R. Little, both of Smithfield, Evelyn R. Lytle of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Kathryn R. Ramsey of Ivor, Ruth R. Hobbs of Emporia; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Smithfield, with the Rev. Jay Ashby officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Memorial Park, Smithfield, with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends at their residence, 201 Red Point Drive, and suggests memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, 201 Cedar St., Smithfield, Va. 23430, or Isle of Wight Academy Building Fund, P.O. Box 105, Isle of Wight, Va. 23397.
