I read with disbelief that members of PETA stated they would throw objects into the water or ram boats of people who are fishing to protect the fish.
Boat-ramming has been around for years, last used in the Chesapeake Bay area by Blackbeard the Pirate. That PETA would hurt people to save a fish worries me, because I usually fish with my wife and twin daughters.
I then read that the Hon. Glenn T. Croshaw, member of the House of Delegates of the Virginia General Assembly, has proposed a law to stop PETA from harassing fishing people. I am grateful to Glenn Croshaw for taking action before someone is hurt.

Virginia Beach, April 16, 1996 MEMO: Editor's Note: After Delegate Croshaw announced his intention to
introduce legislation in the next session of the legislature, Gov.
George F. Allen tacked similar legislation on a bill before him.
Harassing fishers is now outlawed in Virginia.
