Jessie Byrum Crockett, 85, of the 500 block of Darden Ave., died April 28, 1996, in Obici Hospital.
A native of Edenton, N.C., she was the widow of Wendell Francis Crockett and the daughter of the late Ida Jane Pierce and Eli Thomas Byrum. She was a retired sales clerk. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Wesley Bible Class, Riverview Garden Club and Suffolk Women's Club.
Survivors include three brothers, Edwin Byrum and Alvin T. Byrum of Carrsville and Ray Byrum of Edenton, N.C.; sister-in-law, Frances W. Crockett of Suffolk; 16 nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Alan R. Felumlee. The family will be at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Main Street United Methodist Church.
