Bessie M. Williams of the 2200 block of Charleston Ave. died April 27, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Williams was born in Greenville, S.C., and was the widow of Willie Williams. She was a member of Prentis Park Seventh Day Adventist Church in Portsmouth.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Gamble of Red Bank, N.J., and Paul Gamble of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Gamble; and other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Campostella Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church, Norfolk, by Pastor Joshua I. Broomfield. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Thursday.
