PARK'S NEW NAME TAKES YOU BACK IN TIME

Actors portraying Capt. Christopher Newport and other early settlers

helped Seashore State Park change its name Sunday in a ceremony at

the park's amphitheater. The new name, First Landing/Seashore State

Park and Natural Area, commemorates the 105 English settlers who set

foot on the beach in 1607 and later established the Jamestown

Colony.
