David Wayne Baines, 39, of the 7100 block of Holy Neck Road, died April 29, 1996, in Isle of Wight County, Va.
Mr. Baines, a dockworker for Estes Trucking Co., was a native of Nansemond County, Va. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church, Windsor. He was a member of the Servant's Sunday School Class and the choir.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria W. Baines; a daughter, Krystal Starr Baines of Suffolk; his mother, Elizabeth Ann Whitehurst Carr, and his stepfather, Roy M. Carr, both of Franklin; a sister, Shirley B. Robinson of Windsor; two brothers, Robert Richie Baines of Portsmouth and Donnie Wesley Baines Sr. of Capron; an aunt, Dorothy B. Daughtrey of Suffolk; an uncle, Charles Baines of Savannah, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Otis Baines Jr.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Jim Dunn at Antioch Christian Church, Windsor. Burial will be in Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at Harrell Funeral Home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home of Charles and Katherine Wilkins, 306 Shore Drive, Suffolk. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, Va., 23507.
