Jack L. Lawrence Jr., 33, a Newport News native and lifelong Hampton Roads resident, died Sunday, April 28, 1996, at home after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his mother, Linda T. Thompson of Hampton; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. C.A. Turbeville of Hampton; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of Hampton; and his beloved dog, ``Dakota.''
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton, by the Rev. Kenneth W. Newsome with a eulogy written by Dr. Elaine Graft. The family will receive friends today following the service until 8:30 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made as memorial gifts to a favorite charity.
