Theoplis Griffin, 60, formerly of Portsmouth, died April 25, 1996, in Hollis, N.Y. He was a native of Portsmouth.
Survivors include three sons, Theoplis Griffin Jr. of Chesapeake, Clifton Griffin of Cherry Point, N.C., and George Griffin of Norfolk; three sisters, Joyce McMichael of San Diego, Calif., Sandra Cox of Chesapeake, and Brenda Massenburg of Portsmouth; four brothers, Eugene Griffin of Portsmouth, Thaddeus Griffin of Newburgh, N.Y., Earl Griffin of Chesapeake, and Clayton Griffin of Palmdale, Calif.; three grandchildren; two brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday by the Rev. Bernard Thomas at Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be in White Family Cemetery, Chesapeake. The family will assemble at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends immediately following interment at 2721 Twin Cedar Trail, Chesapeake.
