Sandra Harkness ``Sandi'' Chappell, 45, of Route 3, died Saturday April 27, 1996, at her sister's residence in Worthington. She was born June 16, 1950, in Portsmouth.
She was a long time Amoco Oil Dealer in Virginia Beach and retired early this year. She was an avid lover of Native American Folk Lore and customs.
Survivors include her husband, David C. Chappell; her loving father and mother, Charles and Elouise Harkness of Chesapeake; her sister, Mrs. James R. ``Billie'' Hess of Worthington; a brother, Mr. Charles Harkness Jr. and his wife, Cena of Virginia Beach; two stepsons, Mr. David W. Chappell and Mr. William O. Chappell and his wife,
Christie of Cullman, Ala. Sandra was also the proud ``Nana'' to granddaughter, Katie and grandson, Christian Chappell, children of
William and Christie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Blackwood Funeral Home, Warrior, Ala. There will be a memorial service in Mannington at a later date. Donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today in Blackwood Chapel with burial in Nectar Cemetery.
