CBN PLANS VIRGINIA BEACH PRAYER SERVICE

In recognition of the National Day of Prayer, the Christian Broadcasting Network will have a communitywide Christian prayer service at 7 p.m. today at its outdoor tent.

Larry Lea, an author and former dean of Oral Roberts University School of Theology, will be the featured speaker.

He will be joined by Cindy Jacobs, founder of Generals of Intercession, an organization that conducts prayer movements around the world. Jacobs is scheduled to lead a prayer on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in the afternoon before coming to the CBN event.

About 12 local pastors from evangelical churches will participate, including Charles Wickman, of Kempsville Presbyterian Church; Fritz Stegeman, of Open Door Chapel in Virginia Beach; Ernest Trueblood of Parkway Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church in Chesapeake; and Mark Pullen of Temple Baptist Church in Norfolk.

Seating at the event, which is free and open to the public, is available for 3,000 people. It will be held at the CBN campus at Indian River Road and Centerville Turnpike. For more information, call 579-2357. by CNB
